TechBytes Audiocast – Episode 48 – 27/05/11 – “Will the real Steve Ballmer please step down”

Intro music: “I fought the troll” by Tom Smith.  You can find more of his work here.

Hosts: Tim (OpenBytes) Roy (Techrights)

Its Roy and myself today discussing all manner of topics relating to the world of Tech.

* Microsoft back doors – The exploit of Microsoft products could take up many shows, but today we narrow the angle and briefly discuss the issue.

* Facebook – We discuss Marks recent comments.  Facebook? No thanks.

* Mac Virus? – No! We talk app stores, repo’s, packages etc and examine what exactly a “virus” is.  Advocates of Windows would love you to think the Mac is as vulnerable as a Windows system.

* We look at the alleged $5 Android “tax” which its claimed has Microsoft making more money with the Android platform than with its own Windows Phone 7.  Surprising? no.  Disgusting? Yes.

* Microsoft in China – “ahhh its the fault of Piracy!!!” – Funny that, Billy Gates had something very different to say on the subject not so long ago.

* Skype – Looking at its recent outage and the lack of Linux update.  Does it matter? No.  Skype is working very well for me thank you very much.

All this and much more, including a look at Bad Boy Ballmer and his comment about the iPhone in 2007:

There’s no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share.  No chance.

Yep, that’s Steve’s insight for you… Will the real Steve Ballmer, please step down?
