Warning – Gmail scam – Hot off the press!

The following popped up in my inbox literally moments ago and it should be noted that it is a scam. Do not respond to this mail, delete it immediately.

We are shutting down some Gmail accounts, due to the anonymous registration that is going on. Kindly supply the below information to verify and let us know if you still want to use this account..

Pass word:
Birth date:

Warning code: f9d9c4a9-c482a016-1cae38d5ae

Warning!!!! Account details not received within 72hours will be automatically shut down and closed permanently.

For those still unconvinced, take a look at how they spell password.  The mail is shown as coming from albert.mindlink@gmail.com and replies to acct.updating101@gmail.com

The shame is, there will still be people sucked in by the mail and whilst the majority of readers to Openbytes won’t fall victim, I am aware via many email conversations that many new users read my blog.
