After proud announcements about how great Microsofts Silverlight was, it is now being reported that a major site (NBC) is dumping Silverlight, in favour of flash.

You may remember that many US Linux users were disapointed that they could not watch the Olympics due to it being streamed online with Silversh*te.   Now it appears NBC has gone back to Flash, as the market penetration of Flash is far greater than Silversh*te.  It seems Microsoft is having a run of bad luck at the moment.

In the UK it appears ITV’s own website is running SL, however I wonder how long it will last over here?  Lets hope the trash is removed, so that online TV can be enjoyed by all, without being forced to put MS software on our systems.
