I am very pleased to write about a new project which will be launching in November. After finding out how much planning and preparation an Oggcast required to make it something which people wanted to listen to, the OpenBytes oggcast suffered delay after delay.
After discussion, Openbytes will be joining up with Techrights in order to produce a project which we hope you will find interesting.
Regular readers should note that the TechBytes audiocast is as well as (not instead of) my articles here and for more information from Techrights on this project, please visit here.

I have just caught up with the test episode. It is one thing being in the audience and another on the stage (I imagine from my own personal anxiety index), after a number of shows I am sure you will be relaxed and comfortable and approaching it like another day at work. I look forward to a very long run. Well done to the both of you.
Its funny because I often conduct public speeches, however those are work related and talking about issues I deal with every day. This was out of my comfort zone and no planning really conducted. That being said for the purposes of testing the hardware it was good and now we have a planned strategy for publishing them it takes away some of the stress.
I certainly don’t want that trial looked at as one of the shows, merely to iron out problems, which it has highlighted that:
a/ Theres a mic issue.
b/ No stereo should be used.
c/ Audacity’s feature for reducing popping (there were though surprisingly few)
d/ a better piecing together of sounds (this however could have been done at the time but we went from recording to publishing in about 2 hours)
Thanks for the feedback and we are hoping to get out a Fedora special for 14 release with a Fedora Amassador on the show.
And remember if you want to help, you are more than welcome, this is a community project and everyones involved.
For info, download wise its reported to have reached about 1000 downloads….not bad for a sound test.
Kindest regards
Tim.
